This activity encourages children to visually map out a character’s emotions and actions - whether this is a character from a book, film or their own creation on an outline of a body. The words that go in the outline are words that describe the character’s personality such as kind or brave. Words that go outside are descriptive words that can be seen such as tall or thin. This resource helps children develop their understanding of a character and show what they believe defines the character. The activity can be extended by asking the pupils to write down their own descriptive words (adjectives) related to the character of study. Children can use a dictionary to explore more vocabulary.
